Wheatland Salem Church

The purpose and goal of Wheatland Salem is to create a positive Christian environment in which learning is fun and rewarding. Activities are organized so that children can master simple skills and gradually advance to more difficult tasks with a feeling of self-control and confidence. The preschool curriculum has been carefully planned using the Illinois Early Learning Standards as a benchmark to include developmentally appropriate learning experiences that will best prepare them for future entry into Kindergarten and beyond.

Classes/Schedules

Wheatland Salem Christian Academy offers Half-day preschool (9-11:30 a.m. or 12:45-3:15 p.m.), and also offers an Extended Day program for 4-yr olds and 3-yr olds from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Half-day preschool classes are offered as 2, 3, or 4 day sessions.

The Extended-day classes are offered as 3 or 4 day sessions.

Class Size and Placement

Preschool classrooms will be maintained at a maximum enrollment of 10 children each. (Eight children maximum in the "Before 3 You and Me" program). We follow the State of Illinois School code of chronological age placement of children. Therefore, children registering for the Three-year-old Program must be 3 years of age and children registering for the Four-year-old Program must be 4 years of age on or before September 1st of the enrolled school year.
