CORE Classes
Wheatland Salem Church (WSC) welcomes anyone who is on a spiritual journey. This is a place for belonging. No one is required to be an official “member” to participate in the life of this spiritual community. Many people consider WS their spiritual home even though they are not formally “members”.
Membership moves beyond participation. Members enter into a covenant of promises, expectations, and accountability. Membership links us together as a family in Christ, unites us in a common mission with the Holy Spirit, and calls us to be partners in God’s wonderful new kind of community.
At WSC when we think of membership, we don't think so much of joining a religious institution as of becoming part of a life-changing spiritual journey.
Why? Because Jesus didn’t come to start a religion. Jesus invited people to follow him. That’s what we are all about—an authentic spiritual journey following Jesus. We call it vintage Christianity for the twenty-first century. Those who are ready to engage that journey deliberately and intentionally by becoming members of WS are expected to complete three (3) CORE Classes. In CORE Classes, we have the opportunity to become acquainted with our own personal spiritual journey, our role in the WS community, the possibilities for a significant impact in the world, and the unique ministry committed to WS. You may take all three CORE classes in a single Saturday or you may complete courses on multiple days.
You make take all three CORE classes in a single Saturday or you may complete one or two on one Saturday and the remaining on a subsequent Saturday when they are offered again.
Child care, snacks and a light lunch (for those attending 201) are provided.
